Fall

Fall has been so beautiful this year! We have been taking advantage of the great weather by doing things outside as often as we can. One of Abilynn's favorite things to do is go for walks. I push Peter in the stroller and she rides her scooter. She is very good at wearing her helmet and goes a long way before I make her turn around. (I keep having visions of me having to carry the scooter and Peter and push Abilynn in the stroller home because she gets tired and doesn't want to ride the scooter anymore, hence why I make her turn around after so long.) It is a very slow walk due to all the stops she has to make. If a dog happens to be coming up, we have to stop and say hello. If there is a different leave on the ground, Abilynn has to stop and pick it up. On one particular walk Abilynn started handing the leaves to me to hold onto. After my hands got full I started putting the leaves in the bottom of the stroller. Abilynn thought that was not acceptable and made me take them out and hold them. Let's just say the leaves would fall out of my hands slowly so that by the time we got home I only had 3. Abilynn asked where all the leaves went and I told her they blew away. "Oh. Where they went to?" I told her they blew all the way to grandma and grandpas house. She then started going into a dance/speech on the leaves blowing all the way to grandma and grandpas house. Another walk she handed the scooter to me and told me to ride it and she would push Peter. She may be tall but she can't see over the stroller, so when she pushes it she has no idea where she is going. I tried to explain this to her and she didn't understand. So I then told her that mommy is too big for her scooter and will break it, this she did understand. Abilynn has not offered to share her scooter with me since.
We went to Tracy Aviary a couple of weeks ago and Abilynn loved it. She still talks about the bald eagle we saw there. We went to Gardner Village a couple of times to see the witches. I made Abilynn sit on a bail of hay for a picture and she started complaining it was poking her. So I put Peter's blanket down and that seemed to make it more comfortable. She could have cared less about the witches but enjoyed walking around. We went to the zoo last weekend with the cousins. The whole ride to the zoo Abilynn was telling me who was going to be there. She was so excited! She ran around and had so much fun. She talks about the animals we saw to everyone. Peter enjoyed himself too. He is such a good little boy and is so chill with hanging out in the stroller. He did get to see the seal lions swimming and I am not quite sure he saw the baby giraffe but I tried to show him! We have also visited the park a lot. If Abilynn doesn't fall asleep in the car after shopping we stop at the park for a half hour or so. One day it was not so warm but Abilynn did not want to leave. So being the good mom I am, I wrapped Peter and I in a blanket and we watched Abilynn play for about 20 minutes. Her hands were freezing cold when I finally got her in the car! She didn't care.
