I just wanted to go to the book store

The other day I was running errands. I was going to stop at Target and the bookstore. I was in and out of Target in a half hour. That has to be some kind of record for me! I only needed a humidifier, diapers, and baby Tylenol, most of which was in the pharmacy area. As I was checking out Abi pooped. I was going to just put her in the car and go home to change her but the bookstore was right there and I really wanted to go. So instead of going home, I went to the bookstore. This was a new mom mistake!
I took Abi out of her car seat and carried her in (mistake #1). I went straight to the bathroom to change her and she had blown out everywhere! For the next 15 minutes I am literally bathing my child in baby wipes. I was lucky and had an extra outfit in the diaper bag. So I get Abilynn put back together and we head off to look at books (mistake #2).
Abi starts fussing a little. I get her calmed down and realize she is tired and doesn't want to fall asleep. See, if I had left her in her car seat she could have just fallen asleep but since I was holding her she didn't want too. I find some books and head to checkout. As I am walking to the checkout Abi is crying. I am trying to calm her. She finally takes her binky. I get in line to check out and Abilynn starts screaming. There were two other people in front of me, so instead of waiting I put my books down and left. I get to the car and put Abilynn back in her car seat and immediately she falls asleep! Little booger! Yes, I was tempted to go back in to the bookstore but instead I headed home. Next time I want to go to the bookstore, I will wait until JP can watch Abi!!

Happy Birthday UTAH

I hope everyone had a wonderful 24th of July! I enjoyed being a single mom all day as JP was working from 9 am to 10 pm. Don't bring it up to him as he was not very happy about it! We usually go to the parade but because of JP having to work I didn't go. Instead I went to breakfast with my sisters. After breakfast we just hung out at my parent's house. At four there was a parade at Cottonwood Heights for Buttlerville Days. Whitney, Courtney, Abilynn and I decided to check it out. It was a pretty good parade. They threw out a lot of candy! Courtney headed over to the park after the parade and Whitney, baby girl and I went back to my parents. Later that night we went back to the park to watch the fireworks. Abilynn was awake for the fireworks show and seemed to enjoy them. I love watching the fireworks at the park because you are so close to where they light them off. You can watch them light the fireworks and you can see the fire that appears as they shoot. Next year I will go over earlier to check out the festivities that go on before! Unfortunately, I forgot my camera in all the running around so I don't have any pictures.

2 month visit

Abilynn had her two month visit today. As most of you know, that is the appointment they get immunizations. JP made it to the appointment just in time for the immunizations. Abilynn did very well, besides the initial red face and screaming. She stopped crying when we walked out of the exam room and then she fell asleep in the car on the ride home. Here are her stats...
Weight: 12 pounds 4 ounces
Length: 24.25 inches
Head Circumference: 15.6 inches (why do they measure head circumference anyway?)

AM or PM

My sisters and I saw Twilight and New Moon at the midnight showings. SO when Eclipse came out it was a no brainer that we were going to do the midnight or close to showing on opening day. Even with a new baby I was going! JP was nice enough to let me go and was willing to wake up to feed Abilynn while I was gone. My sister Whitney bought the tickets online and we decided on a theater that had assigned seats, to save us from having to get to the theater way early. I was meeting my sisters at the theater. I get there and they were right behind me. We walk in and print our tickets. Whitney decides she is going to go to the bathroom and the rest of us are going to sit down. I hand the kid my ticket and he looks at it and looks at me. "Um, these tickets are for 12:30 pm not 12:30 am." What!? Cute Whitney was confused and bought tickets for the afternoon showing. The ticket guy told us we were not the only ones to make this mistake though. We all headed home to sleep and headed back to the theater twelve hours later!

I wonder...

I wonder when belching and farting goes from "good job" to "that's disgusting"?

I wonder when people stop getting excited that you pooped?

I wonder when you stop fighting sleep and long for it? What I would give for someone to tell me to go to sleep and wake up to the house being clean!!

I wonder if my milk is really as good as Abilynn makes it sound?

I wonder when babies figure out that night time is sleep time and morning does not start until eight or later? (OK, so this is more of a hope then a wonder!!)

I wonder if I will ever get a full nights sleep again?

I wondered if I would be a good mother, more like I worried!

I wondered if JP would do OK with sleepless nights and having to work all day. Well, didn't have to worry about this one because he has NO idea when Abi wakes up! No, Abi did not sleep from one until seven, she woke up at four.

I wondered if I would be OK leaving my child to go back to work?

I wonder when we stop taking everything in and start running faster then we can go?

I wonder what my little girl thinks when she stares off into space?

I wonder if my hips will go back to "normal"?

I wonder why birds suddenly appear every time you are near!!!

2 months old

Baby Girl Abilynn is 2 months old. I cannot believe how fast those two months have gone, or how fast she has changed in those two months! This is what she has done in the last couple of months..

*She has found her fingers and LOVES to chew on them. She also likes to chew on moms and dads fingers too! Her hands are always cold from chewing on them.
*She rolled over. She has done it a couple of times.
*She loves her activity center. She will kick her legs and swing her arms for a long time. Mommy loves that she likes it too!
*She follows your voice.
*She talks a lot!
*She smiles a lot! If you smile at her she smiles right back, and she has dimples.
*She can focus on things further away. She loves to watch things and will crank her neck to see you.
*She likes to be outside. Her head and eyes go crazy looking at everything.
*She does not like to face you when riding in the baby pack. In fact she will throw a fit until you turn her around. She likes to see where she is going and look at things, not just mom or dad!
*She likes to read books. I put her on my stomach and put a blanket over us and she will let me read two sometimes three books. She will kick her feet the whole time.
*She cannot sit still. She loves to kick her feet and move her arms.
*She has been swimming, a couple of times actually, and she loves it.
*She likes the bath tub and will splash and splash, until she gets hungry and then she will get upset.
*She likes her car seat and going on drives.
Here are some cute pictures.

Like the headband? It reminds me of the work out headbands from the 80's!

Happy Fourth of July!!!!

Our celebration began yesterday by going to the Murray parade. JP, Jamie and Joseph all ran the 5K before the parade. JP and Joseph were competing to see who could do better. Joseph won by a minute and a half. Highlights of the parade include:
*Joseph picking up the number 2 that had fallen off a poster and giving it to JP. "Here is your number 2 JP." Joseph said as he put it on JPs shirt.
*We sit by the post office and so through out the parade trucks would be leaving to deliver the mail. One guy had his door open so you could see his leg and Jess took the opportunity to let him know he had a "Sexy Leg."
*JP telling kids with squirt guns to shoot Whitney, and they soaked her.
Here are a bunch of pictures to enjoy!
The grandkids first parade. Don't they look happy!?
Tymon asking Abi why we have to take so many pictures!! Or he wants her flag.
Abilynn enjoying the parade. She fell asleep shortly after it began and woke up at the end.

The three runners. JP with his number two.
